Thomas Toftegaard resigns as Head of the Department of Engineering

Lars Ditlev Mørck Ottosen will take over as Acting Head of Department as of 1 May 2020 when Thomas Toftegaard stops

Professor Thomas Toftegaard has chosen to resign from his position as Head of Department of the Department of Engineering at the end of April, as he has been offered an attractive job elsewhere.

Professor (MSO) Lars Ditlev Mørck Ottosen will be acting Head of Department as of 1 May 2020.

Dean Eskild Holm Nielsen understands Thomas Toftegaard's choice: “We will miss Thomas. I would like to thank him for his visionary approach and his great efforts to implement the engineering initiative. He has always been very dedicated,” he says.

Lars Ditlev Mørck Ottosen is MSc in biology from Aarhus University with a subsidiary subject in business economics, and he obtained his PhD in microbial ecology in the year 2000. He was subsequently employed at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital in various research positions. In 2010, he was appointed associate professor at the Department of Engineering and since 2013 he has been section manager of the Biological and Chemical Engineering section at the department. He is also part of the interdisciplinary centre WATEC. In 2019, he was appointed Professor MSO.
