IT degree programmes fully booked
114 young people have chosen Aarhus University's three new degree programmes as their first priority.
The degree programmes in data science, civil engineer in computer engineering and civil engineer in electrical engineering are off to a good start. The three degree programmes are being offered for the first time this year, and a total of 114 prospective students have chosen them as their first priority.
This means that the places will be filled and that, unfortunately, the university will have to reject some or refer them to other programmes.
The degree programmes were designed to meet the high demand for IT experts in the business community and in society.
Aarhus University offers a total of ten degree programmes within IT, and can look forward to welcoming 738 young people who want to learn more about the field, and who have chosen the degree programmes as their first priority.
Finn Borchsenius, vice-dean for education at the faculty of Science and Technology, is very pleased with the new intake:
"The students can look forward to some exciting years and they will learn a lot about different aspects of the IT world. Society urgently needs people with the skills they’ll be acquiring, so they will see that they’re in great demand when they’re finished. The programmes offer a wealth of opportunities afterwards."
