Engineering internship

During the fifth semester of the Bachelor of Engineering programme, you will take an internship in an engineering company to get insight into working as an engineer. This internship period is often paid. Aarhus University has internship agreements with a wide range of companies to help you find an internship.

Entrepreneurial internship

As an engineering student at Aarhus University, you can also use your semester-long internship to try your hand as an entrepreneur. During your studies, you will be trained to think creatively using your academic skills, and to seek ideas and translate these into solutions to real-life problems. During an entrepreneurial internship, you will work on translating your ideas into products and concepts with a commercial potential. You can also take an entrepreneurial internship as a team.

You will be assigned permanent supervisors and specialists during the process of starting up a business, and you will be able to use the laboratories and experimental facilities at Aarhus University. You should expect a weekly advisory session and weekly participation in a workshop. The workshop will present you with the latest entrepreneurship tools and methods.  In addition, you will be part of a creative environment where discussions with other entrepreneurs are a routine part of the day.

An entrepreneurial internship is fully credit-bearing under the rules governing your degree programme. You will also have free office space throughout the entire semester in the Startup Factory innovation environment on the waterfront in Aarhus. The semester is unpaid, and students are selected on the basis of a personal statement, including a description of your business idea.
