Best Paper Award: Niloofar Yazdani

PhD Student and electrical engineer Niloofar Yazdani recently won the Best Paper Award for her research in network coding at the international IEEE conference in South Africa.

Congratulations to 30 year old PhD Student Niloofar Yazdani, who won the Best Paper Award for her research in network coding at the international IEEE conference on wireless network technology in South Africa.

Niloofar won the prize for suggesting an all new network coding technique called ”Revolving Codes” that could potentially speed up network technology and make it more stable. The method fills a knowledge gap in the scientific field and can e.g. make Internet of Things systems more energy efficient and robust.

Niloofar has a M.Sc.Eng. from K .N. Toosi University of Technology in Iran and came to Denmark 1,5 year ago with her husband and 4-year-old daughter. They wanted to find a university, where they could both pursue their passion for technology and start a career in engineering science. They ended up here at Aarhus University, where they’re now both PhD Students at the Department of Engineering. 

Niloofar Yazdani is part of the research team Network Computing, Communications and Storage (NETX) at the Department of Engineering, who're working on current and future challenges of networking, cloud and edge computing, and distributed storage developing new theoretical concepts, designs and real-life implementations of these concepts applied to the Next Generation Internet (NGI), the Internet of Things (IoT), the Tactile Internet, and Cloud systems.
